چکیده

We consider a three-dimensional discrete dynamical system that describes an application to economics of a generalization of the Lotka–Volterra prey–predator model. The dynamic model proposed is used to describe the interactions among industrial clusters (or districts), following a suggestion given by [23]. After studying some local and global properties and bifurcations in bidimensional Lotka–Volterra maps, by numerical explorations we show how some of them can be extended to their three-dimensional counterparts, even if their analytic and geometric characterization becomes much more difficult and challenging. We also show a global bifurcation of the three-dimensional system that has no two-dimensional analogue. Besides the particular economic application considered, the study of the discrete version of Lotka–Volterra dynamical systems turns out to be a quite rich and interesting topic by itself, i.e. from a purely mathemat-

Four-Dimensional Discrete-time Lotka-Volterra Models with an Application to Ecology

This paper presents a study of the two-predators-two-preys discrete-time Lotka-Volterra model with selfinhibition terms for preys with direct applications to ecological problems. Parameters in the model are modified so that each of them has its own biological meaning, enabling more intuitive interpretation of biological conditions to the model . Moreover, the modified version is applicable to s...

The Efficiency of Harvested Factor; Lotka-Volterra Predator-Prey Model

Scientists are interested in find out “how to use living resources without damaging the ecosystem at the same time?” from nineteen century because the living resources are limited. Thus, the harvested rate is used as the control parameters. Moreover, the study of harvested population dynamics is more realistic.    In the present paper, some predator-prey models in which two ecologically inte...

Extinction in Nonautonomous Discrete Lotka-Volterra Competitive System with Pure Delays and Feedback Controls

The coexistence and global stability of population models are of the interesting subjects in mathematical biology. Many authors have argued that the discrete time models are governed by differential equations which are more appropriate than the continuous ones to describe the dynamics of population when the population has nonoverlapping generations, a lot has been done on discrete Lotka-Volterr...

An Analysis on The Lotka-Volterra Food Chain Model: Stability

The food chain refers to a natural system by which energy is transmitted from one organism to another. In fact, a food chain consists of producers, consumers and decomposition. Presence of complex food web increase the stability of the ecosystem. Classical food chain theory arises from Lotka-Volterra model. In the present paper, the dynamics behavior of three level food chain is studied. A syst...

Dynamically Consistent Discrete Lotka-volterra Competition Models Derived from Nonstandard Finite-difference Schemes

Discrete-time Lotka-Volterra competition models are obtained by applying nonstandard finite difference (NSFD) schemes to the continuous-time counterparts of the model. The NSFD methods are noncanonical symplectic numerical schemes when applying to the predator-prey model x = x − xy and y = −y + xy. The local dynamics of the discrete-time model are analyzed and compared with the continuous model...
